Blake Byram is an enthusiastic aviator. He has been a licensed pilot since 1992, and for the last three years has been a member of the Aircraft Owner Pilot’s Association.
Blake Byram is always ready to share not only his enthusiasm for flying, but his aircraft and piloting skills as well. He donated helicopter time and instruction to the Bridgepoint Elementary school in the Eanes Independent School District for their Science Day in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He conducted a class in aerodynamics for the elementary school students, in hopes of increasing the children’s interest in the aviation industry. Blake Byram piloted and donated his helicopter time to the Extreme Makeover TV show aired on ABC, for the episode on the victims of the devastating 2011 Bastrop fires, the most destructive wildfire in Texas history. He also donated his helicopter time for the home makeover of firefighter Mizzy Zdroj, and hosted a fundraiser for Fashion for Compassion, benefitting the Austin Children’s Shelter.
He donated his helicopter and pilot services to the Neighborhood Night Out program in Cedar Park, Texas, two years in a row. For this, Blake Byram received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Cedar Park Police Department.
Blake Byram has used his aviation abilities to fly doctors and medical supplies to Port au Prince Haiti for Doctors Without Borders, the international humanitarian medical organization. He used his own aircraft to make these flights.
As a Coast Guard veteran and longtime supporter of the American military, Blake Byram donated event space and time for numerous charitable events benefitting veterans, including Wounded Warriors.
